Llandudno Museum History

When the first Lockdown in March 2020 happened Llandudno Museum and Gallery put out a call to the people of Llandudno and the schools of County Conwy Borough to get a record of child and young adult experiences of the first Lockdown. In historical accounts, the voices of children and young people are often scarce, or written years after the fact which alters the account. Llandudno Museum set out to capture young person’s experiences firsthand.

Ten local schools agreed to participate, and the collection so far is amazing! We have partnered with Conwy Culture Working Group, Conwy County Fusion, Conwy Archives, Venue Cymru, Theatr Colwyn, Llandudno Library, and the Royal Cambrian Academy who have all set up spaces for a range of other Lockdown centred exhibitions. From March to June 2021 locals and visitors can not only visit Llandudno Museum’s Living History: Lockdown exhibition but they can tour the town and visit our exhibition partners.
