Chardon’s Collections

Explore our Art Gallery, Francis Chardon, was a painter and collector of the Victorian/Edwardian eras. Our gallery features primarily oil paintings of varying types from 1870 to the mid-1920s. Works of note include Attilio Pratella, J. C. Salmon, one of the artists associated with the Conwy Valley Group, Nicola Biondi, and Otto Friedrich Geleng. Chardon was a keen artist and the bulk of his paintings and pastels remain with the museum. He is noted for his pastel works and his unusual approach to pastel texturing techniques. Our museum also features a brilliant range of local photographs of Llandudno donated to us by the local community.
