The History of the British Transport Police – Gallery Talk
August 27 @ 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm
Llandudno Museum
17–19 Gloddaeth Street, Llandudno, Conwy, United Kingdom
Join Bill Rogerson MBE, former British Transport Police officer and Honorary Secretary of the British Transport Police History Group, for a fascinating gallery talk exploring the history of the British Transport Police.
Drawing on a remarkable career spanning over 40 years with the force, Bill will share the story of railway policing from its origins through to the modern day. Discover how Britain’s railways have been protected over the decades, hear fascinating real-life stories from the railway network, and learn how the role of the British Transport Police has evolved alongside the changing railway. Bill served across the UK, including as Sergeant-in-Charge at Holyhead, and was awarded an MBE for services to the British Transport Police.
Held in celebration of our temporary Transport of North Wales exhibition, this engaging talk offers a unique insight into the people and history behind one of Britain’s oldest specialist police forces.
